EUSci seminar series: radar in space, speech recognition and avian navigation
EUSci would like to invite you all to attend our upcoming seminar
evening at the Wash Bar on The Mound this Thursday evening from 7pm!
EUSci is the Edinburgh University Science Magazine, run by students and
post-docs. Our seminars allow engagement between scientists from
different fields and stages in their university/academic career. This
week we have a delightfully informative evening lined up for your
scientific pleasure, so do come along and enjoy an evening of
entertainment along with the usual refreshments. Arrive promptly to make
sure the beer is cold!
Speaker line up includes:
Omar Valerio Minero, who will inform us of the use of radar technology in space exploration.
Ben Simmons will talk about speech recognition and the interaction of
people with computers. Are we really seeking a personal relationship
with our iPhone?
And Alua Suleimenova returns to us for a second time, to speak on avian
navigation: how homing pigeons make use of the sun compass and visual
landmarks.
Hope to see you there!
